General Airport Information Cape Town International Airport is the second busiest in South Africa and the third busiest on the continent, after OR Tambo and Cairo. Infrastructure According to statistics from 2012, the airport sees passenger traffic of over 8.5 million each year and has a capacity for 14.5 million passengers. There are over 95,000 aircraft movements per year, to and from the airport, connecting to major international destinations as well as cities around South Africa.
